Man Lā Yaḥḍuruh al-Faqīh|Volume 1|Book 1|Chapter 24
Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir عليه السلام said: "In what Musa ibn Imran عليه السلام privately spoke to his Lord عز وجل, the Mighty and Glorious, Musa عليه السلام said: 'O’ Lord عز وجل, what is the reward for visiting the sick?' Allah سبحانه وتعالى replied: 'I will appoint an angel to visit them in their grave until the Day of Resurrection.' Musa عليه السلام asked: 'O’ Lord عز وجل, what about the one who washes the deceased?' Allah سبحانه وتعالى replied: 'I will cleanse them of their sins as on the day their mother gave birth to them.'"
