Abu Al-Hasan the third, Imam Ali ibn Muhammad Al-Hadi عليه السلام, was asked about garments made in Basra similar to Yemeni fabric, made of silk (قز) and cotton (قطن), and whether they are suitable for shrouding the deceased. Imam عليه السلام said: "If the cotton content is greater than the silk, then there is no issue (in using them)."
