Description of the Prayer from Its Beginning to Its End

Hisham ibn al-Hakam narrated from Abu Al-Hasan Imam Musa ibn Jafar Al-Kadhim عليه السلام, that He said: "There is another reason (for the seven takbirs), which is that when The Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم was taken up to the heavens (during the Miʿrāj), he passed through seven veils (ḥujub). At each veil, He said a takbir (declaring 'Allahu Akbar'). Thus, Allah سبحانه وتعالى (the Almighty and Glorious) brought him to the highest level of honor through these takbirs."
