Chapter on What is Obligatory for One Who Breaks the Fast or Engages in Intercourse in the Month of Ramadan Intentionally or Forgetfully

Al-Hasan ibn Mahbub narrated from Abdullah ibn Sinan, from Abu Abdullah عليه السلام, regarding a man who deliberately broke his fast during the Month of Ramadan for one day without any excuse. Imam عليه السلام said: "He must free a slave, or fast for two consecutive months, or feed sixty poor people. If he cannot afford any of these, he should give charity to the extent of his ability."
