Chapter on What is Obligatory for One Who Breaks the Fast or Engages in Intercourse in the Month of Ramadan Intentionally or Forgetfully

Abdullah ibn Sinan asked Imam عليه السلام about a man who is making up a fast for the Month of Ramadan. He becomes junub (in a state of ritual impurity) at the beginning of the night but does not perform ghusl until the end of the night, thinking that dawn has already broken. Imam عليه السلام said: "He should not fast that day but should fast on another day."
