Chapter on Judgment Regarding Sheep Grazing in a Cultivated Field

Al-Washa narrated from Ahmad ibn Umar al-Halabi, who said: I asked Abu al-Hasan عليه السلام about the words of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted: "And [mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field" (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:78). Imam عليه السلام said: "The judgment of David عليه السلام was to grant the ownership of the sheep, but what Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, made Solomon عليه السلام understand was that he ruled in favor of the owner of the field by granting him the milk and wool of the sheep for the entire year."
