Man Lā Yaḥḍuruh al-Faqīh|Volume 3|Book 2|Chapter 38
It is narrated from Ali ibn Mahziyar that he said: I asked Abu Ja'far al-Thani عليه السلام about the saying of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Almighty and Glorious; "By the night when it covers, and by the day when it appears" (Surah Al-Lail 92:1-2) and His saying, "By the star when it falls" (Surah An-Najm 53:1), and other similar verses. Imam عليه السلام said: "Indeed, Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Almighty and Glorious, may swear by whatever He سبحانه وتعالى wills from His سبحانه وتعالى creation, but His سبحانه وتعالى creation is only permitted to swear by Him سبحانه وتعالى, the Almighty and Glorious."
