Chapter on the Rulings Regarding Male Slaves and Female Bondwoman
Dawud ibn al-Husayn narrated from Abu al-Abbas al-Baqbaq, who said: I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام: "Can a man marry a bondwoman without the knowledge of her owners?" Imam عليه السلام said: "That is considered fornication. Indeed, Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Mighty and Majestic, says: 'Then marry them with the permission of their owners' (Surah An-Nisa, 4:25)."
