Chapter on Prohibition of Shedding Blood and Taking Wealth Unlawfully, the Prohibition of Engaging in the Impermissible, and Repentance From Killing Whether Intentional or Accidental
Hammad narrated from Al-Halabi from Abu Abdullah عليه السلام regarding a man who intentionally kills another man's slave. Imam عليه السلام said: "He must pay the value of the slave and be severely beaten." And regarding a man who kills his own slave, Imam عليه السلام said: "He must free a slave, fast for two consecutive months, and feed sixty needy people, and then repent after that."
