The prophet’s صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم Designation of the qa’im عليه السلام
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَطَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ السُّكَّرِيُّ الْمَرْوَزِيُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ: جِئْتُ مَعَ أَبِي إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ وَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَخْطُبُ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ يَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ يَعْنِي أَمِيراً ثُمَّ خَفَضَ مِنْ صَوْتِهِ فَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا يَقُولُ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي مَا قَالَ قَالَ قَالَ كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ.
Narrated to us Ahmad bin Hasan al-Qattan: Narrated to us Abu Ali Muhammad bin Ali bin Ismail Sukkari Marwazi: Narrated to us Sahl bin Ammar Nishapuri: Narrated to us Amr bin Abdullah ibn Tharrin: Narrated to us Sufyan from Saeed bin Amr from Shabi from Jabir bin Samura that he said: “I went to the Masjid with my father and the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم was speaking. I heard him say: There will be twelve after me – that is Amirs – then he lowered his voice and I could not make out what he said. So I asked my father: What did he say? He replied: He said: All of them will be from Quraish.”
