The prophet’s صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم Designation of the qa’im عليه السلام

Narrated to us Muhammad bin Umar Hafiz: Narrated to me Abu Bakr Muhammad bin Ali Muqri – alias Qattah – that he said: Narrated to me Ahmad bin Muhammad bin Yahya Soosi: Narrated to us Abdul Aziz bin Aban: Narrated to us Sufyan Thawri from Jabir from Shabi from Masrooq that he said: “I asked Abdullah (Ibn Masud), ‘Did the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم inform you how many caliphs will there be after him?’ He replied, ‘Yes, twelve caliphs. All of them will be from Quraish.”
