Merits of the Month of Ramaḍān

My father رحمه الله narrated to us, saying that Saʿd b. ʿAbd Allāh narrated to him among others, saying that Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan narrated to him among others, saying that Muḥammad b. al-Ḥusayn b. Abī’l-Khaṭṭāb narrated to him among others, from Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā al-Khazzāz, from Ṭalḥa b. Zayd, from al-Ṣādiq, Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad, from his father, from his forefathers عليهم السلام, who have said: “Do not say “Ramaḍān” or that “Ramaḍān has come,” but rather say “The month of Ramaḍān,” for indeed you know not what Ramaḍān is.”
