Merits of the Month of Ramaḍān

Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm narrated to us, saying that ʿAlī b. Saʿīd al-ʿAskarī narrated to him, saying that al-Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī b. al-Aswad al-ʿIjlī narrated to him among others, saying that ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. Yaḥyā al-Ḥamānī narrated to him among others, saying that Abū Bakr al-Hadhalī narrated to him among others, from al-Zuhrī, from ʿUbayd Allāh b. ʿAbd Allāh, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said: “When the month of Ramaḍān would come, the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وعلى آله would free every captive and grant every seeker (of assistance) that which they asked for.”
