Merits of the Month of Ramaḍān

My father رحمه الله narrated to us, saying that ʿAlī b. Mūsā al-Kumaydhānī narrated to him among others, saying that Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. ʿĪsā narrated to him among others, from ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn, from Muḥammad b. ʿUbayd, from ʿUtba b. Hārūn, saying that Abū Yazīd narrated to him among others, from Ḥaṣīn, from al-Ṣādiq, Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad, from his father, from his forefathers عليهم السلام, for Amīr al-Muʾminīn عليه السلام has said: “Upon you in the month of Ramaḍān is much seeking of forgiveness and supplication. As for supplication, it draws away affliction from you, and as for seeking forgiveness, it erases your sins.”
