Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, from Ahmad ibn Idris, from Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn Abi al-Khattab and al-Hasan ibn Musa al-Khashshab, together from Yazid ibn Ishaq Sha‘ir, from Harun ibn Hamzah al-Ghanawi, from Abu Abdullah عليه السلام, who said:
I asked Imam عليه السلام about a mouse, a scorpion, and similar creatures that fall into water and are removed alive. Is it permissible to drink that water and perform ablution with it? Imam عليه السلام replied: “Pour it out three times, whether the quantity is small or large, as they are the same in this regard. Then it may be drunk, and ablution may be performed with it, except in the case of a gecko, for it renders the water unusable.”
