Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 1|Book 1|Chapter 11
The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, narrated to me with this chain of transmission from Al-Husayn ibn Sa'id, from Safwan, from Al-Ala, from Muhammad, from one of the two (Imams) عليه السلام:
Imam عليه السلام said: regarding a well into which a dead animal falls. Imam عليه السلام said: "If it has an odor, twenty buckets must be drawn from it." And Imam عليه السلام said: "If a person in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) enters the well, seven buckets must be drawn from it."
