أَخْبَرَنِي اَلشَّيْخُ أَيَّدَهُ اَللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْ أَبِي اَلْقَاسِمِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ عِدَّةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عِدَّةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:« لاَ يُسَخَّنُ لِلْمَيِّتِ اَلْمَاءُ لاَ يُعَجَّلُ لَهُ اَلنَّارُ وَ لاَ يُحَنَّطُ بِمِسْكٍ».
The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, narrated to me from Abu al-Qasim Ja‘far ibn Muhammad, from Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub, from a group of our companions, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Ya‘qub ibn Yazid, from a group of our companions, from Abu ‘Abdullah عليه السلام:
Imam عليه السلام said: "Water should not be heated with fire for the deceased, fire should not be hastened for him, and he should not be embalmed (Hanoot) with musk."
