عَلِيُّ بْنُ اَلْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ اَلْحُسَيْنِ وَ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ اَلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ وَ ذُبْيَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أُكَيْلٍ اَلنُّمَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ:« اَلسُّنَّةُ فِي رَشِّ اَلْمَاءِ عَلَى اَلْقَبْرِ أَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ اَلْقِبْلَةَ وَ يَبْدَأَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اَلرَّأْسِ إِلَى عِنْدِ اَلرِّجْلِ ثُمَّ يَدُورَ عَلَى اَلْقَبْرِ مِنَ اَلْجَانِبِ اَلْآخَرِ ثُمَّ يَرُشَّ عَلَى وَسَطِ اَلْقَبْرِ فَكَذَلِكَ اَلسُّنَّةُ فِيهِ».
Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated from Sa‘d ibn ‘Abdullah, from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn and Ahmad ibn al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali ibn Faddal, from his father, from ‘Ali ibn ‘Uqbah and Dhubyan ibn Hakim, from Musa ibn Ukayl al-Numayri, from Abu ‘Abdullah عليه السلام:
Imam عليه السلام said: "The Sunnah regarding sprinkling water on the grave is to face the Qiblah and start from the head of the grave to the feet. Then, move around the grave, sprinkling water on the other side, and finally sprinkle water over the middle of the grave. This is the proper Sunnah for it."
