Chapter on the Description of Ablution and Its Obligations

اَلْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ اِبْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ اَلْحَضْرَمِيِّ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ اَلْمَسْحِ عَلَى اَلْخُفَّيْنِ وَ اَلْعِمَامَةِ فَقَالَ« سَبَقَ اَلْكِتَابُ اَلْخُفَّيْنِ» وَ قَالَ« لاَ تَمْسَحْ عَلَى خُفٍّ».
Al-Husayn ibn Sa'id narrated from Uthman ibn Isa, from Ibn Muskan, from Abu Bakr al-Hadrami:
I asked Imam عليه السلام about wiping over leather socks and the turban. Imam عليه السلام said: "The Book (Quran) has already preceded regarding the leather socks." And Imam عليه السلام said: "Do not wipe over a leather sock."
