Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 1|Book 1|Chapter 22
And through this chain, from Ishaq ibn Ammar, from Abu Abdullah
Imam عليه السلام was asked regarding a basin that has images, or a jug, or a bowl that has images or silver in it. Imam عليه السلام said: "Do not perform wudu (ablution) from it or in it." And (Imam عليه السلام was asked) about a man who trims his nails with iron, cuts his hair, or shaves the back of his neck. Imam عليه السلام said: "He must wipe it with water before praying." Imam عليه السلام was asked: "What if he prays without wiping it with water?" Imam عليه السلام said: "He must wipe it with water and repeat the prayer, because iron is impure." Imam عليه السلام also said: "Indeed, iron is the attire of the inhabitants of Hell, while gold is the attire of the inhabitants of Paradise."
