Al-Husayn ibn Sa’id, from Hammad ibn ‘Isa, from Hariz, from Isma’il ibn Jabir, said:
I entered upon Abu Abdullah عليه السلام when his son Isma’il (the elder son) had died, and I saw Imam عليه السلام kissing him while he was dead. I asked: “May I be your ransom! Is it not improper to touch the deceased after death, and does one who touches him not have to perform ghusl?” Imam عليه السلام said: "If it is while he (the deceased) is still warm, then there is no harm. It is only required if he has cooled."
