Chapter on Instructing the Dying (Talqin al-Muhtadarin)

Ali ibn Muhammad, from Al-Husayn ibn Al-Hasan, from Al-Mu'adhi, from Muhammad ibn Bakr, from Ishaq ibn Ammar, who said: I said to Abu Al-Hasan al-Awwal (the First) عليه السلام: "Indeed, our companions do something when they attend a funeral and the burial of the deceased - they do not leave until they wipe their hands on the grave. Is this a Sunnah or an innovation?" Imam عليه السلام said: "This is obligatory for those who did not attend the prayer over him."
