Chapter on Instructing the Dying (Talqin al-Muhtadarin)

عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ اَلنَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ اَلسَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ:« أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ نَهَى أَنْ يُوضَعُ عَلَى اَلنَّعْشِ اَلْحَنُوطُ».
Ali narrated from his father, from Al-Nawfali, from Al-Sakooni, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام:
Imam عليه السلام said: "The Prophet, may Allah’s سبحانه وتعالى blessings be upon him and his family, prohibited placing hanoot (perfumed substances) on the bier."
