Chapter on Etiquettes of Causes Requiring Purification

وَ أَخْبَرَنِي اَلشَّيْخُ أَيَّدَهُ اَللَّهُ تَعَالَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو اَلْقَاسِمِ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ[ بْنِ خ ل] مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ رَجُلٌ بَالَ وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ مَاءٌ قَالَ« يَعْصِرُ أَصْلَ ذَكَرِهِ إِلَى طَرَفِ ذَكَرِهِ ثَلاَثَ عَصَرَاتٍ وَ يَنْتُرُ طَرَفَهُ فَإِنْ خَرَجَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ شَيْءٌ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اَلْبَوْلِ وَ لَكِنَّهُ مِنَ اَلْحَبَائِلِ».
Narrated to me by the Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, who said: Abu Al-Qasim Ja'far bin Muhammad narrated to me, from Muhammad bin Ya'qub, from Ali bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Hammad, from Hariz, from Muhammad bin Muslim, who said:
I said to Abu Ja'far عليه السلام: 'A man urinates and does not have water with him.' Imam عليه السلام said: 'He should squeeze the base of his penis to its tip three times, and then shake its tip. If anything comes out after that, it is not urine but rather from the habail (natural secretions or residual moisture).'
