Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 1|Book 1|Chapter 4
The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, informed me, saying: Ahmad ibn Muhammad reported to me, from his father, from Ahmad ibn Idris and Saʿd ibn Abdullah, from Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, from Abu Abdullah, from Hammad, from Muhammad ibn al-Nuʿman, from Ghalib ibn al-Hudhayl, who said:
I asked Abu Jaʿfar عليه السلام about the statement of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Mighty and Majestic: "And wipe your heads and your feet up to the ankles" (Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:6) - is it recited in the genitive case (Jar) or the accusative case (Nasb)? Imam عليه السلام replied: "It is in the genitive case (Jar)."
