Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 1|Book 1|Chapter 4
The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, informed me, saying: Jaʿfar ibn Muhammad reported to me, from Muhammad ibn Yaʿqub, from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his brother Ishaq ibn Ibrahim, from Muhammad ibn Ismaʿil ibn Baziʿ, from Abu al-Hasan al-Rida عليه السلام, who said:
Imam عليه السلام said: "Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, has made it obligatory for women in ablution (Wuduʾ) to begin with the inner part of their forearms, and for men to begin with the outer part of their forearms."
