I asked Imam عليه السلام about the amount of water sufficient for ghusl of janabah (major ritual impurity). Imam عليه السلام said: "The Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى (peace be upon him and his family) used to perform ghusl with five amdad of water, shared between him and his wife, and they would both perform ghusl from a single container."
