father, from Al-Husayn ibn Al-Hasan ibn Aban, from Al-Husayn ibn Sa’id, from Hammad, from Hariz, from Zurara, from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام:
Imam عليه السلام said: "Asma bint Umays gave birth to Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr and entered the state of nifas (postnatal bleeding). When she intended to enter ihram at Dhu Al-Hulayfa, the Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى (peace be upon him and his family) instructed her to use cotton pads and cloth to contain the bleeding and to declare her intention for Hajj. When they reached Makkah and completed the rituals, eighteen nights had passed since her bleeding started. The Messenger of Allah سبحانه وتعالى (peace be upon him and his family) instructed her to perform tawaf around the Kaaba and to pray, even though her bleeding had not completely stopped. She did as she was instructed."
