Chapter on Description of Tayammum, Its Rules for Those in a State of Impurity, and What They Should Observe About Istibra and Istizhar

The Shaykh (Al-Mufid), may Allah سبحانه وتعالى support him, narrated to me from Abu al-Qasim Ja'far ibn Muhammad, from Muhammad ibn Ya'qub, from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, and Ali ibn Muhammad, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, all from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Nasr, from Ibn Bukayr, from Zurara, who said: I asked Abu Ja'far عليه السلام about Tayammum (dry ablution). Imam عليه السلام struck the ground with his right hand, then lifted it and shook it off. Imam عليه السلام then wiped his forehead and his palms with it once.
