From him, from Ammar ibn Al-Mubarak, from Zharif ibn Nasih, from Al-Qasim ibn Al-Walid Al-Ghassani, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
I said to Him عليه السلام: “May I be your ransom, the daytime prayer, the prayer of the supererogatory (nawafil), how many are they?” Imam عليه السلام said: "Sixteen. You may pray them at any hour of the day you wish, but if you pray them at their proper times, it is better."
