Chapter on the Prayer Times (Mawaqit)

As for what was narrated by Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Sa'd ibn Isma'il from his father Isma'il ibn Isa who said: I asked (Imam) Al-Ridha, peace be upon him, about a man who prays the Dhuhr prayer and then engages in supererogatory prayers, but the time for Asr comes before he completes his supererogatory prayers. Should he delay the Asr prayer in order to complete his supererogatory prayers, or should he pray the Asr and then complete the supererogatory prayers after Asr, or should he delay them until another time? Imam عليه السلام said: "He should pray the Asr and make up his supererogatory prayers on another day."
