Sa'd from Abdullah ibn Ja'far from Al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Kaysan Al-San'ani, who said:
I wrote to Abu Al-Hasan Al-Thalith, peace be upon him, asking Him عليه السلام about prostrating upon cotton and linen without dissimulation (taqiyyah) and without necessity. So Imam عليه السلام wrote back to me: "That is permissible."
