عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ اِبْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ اَلْخَزَّازِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَنْ قَوْلِ اَللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ« كٰانُوا قَلِيلاً مِنَ اَللَّيْلِ مٰا يَهْجَعُونَ» قَالَ« كَانُوا أَقَلَّ اَللَّيَالِي تَفُوتُهُمْ لاَ يَقُومُونَ فِيهَا»
Ali ibn Ibrahim from his father from Ibn Abi Umayr from Abu Ayyub Al-Khazzaz from Muhammad ibn Muslim who said:
I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about the saying of Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Mighty and Majestic: "They used to sleep but little of the night" (Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:17) Imam عليه السلام said: "The nights in which they missed getting up were very few; they would stand in prayer in most of the nights."
