Chapter on the Manner of Prayer, Its Description and What is Obligatory and Recommended
اَلْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ أَبَانٍ وَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالاَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ:« إِذَا قُمْتَ إِلَى اَلصَّلاَةِ فَقُلِ اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُقَدِّمُ إِلَيْكَ مُحَمَّداً بَيْنَ يَدَيْ حَاجَتِي وَ أَتَوَجَّهُ بِهِ إِلَيْكَ فَاجْعَلْنِي بِهِ وَجِيهاً عِنْدَكَ« فِي اَلدُّنْيٰا وَ اَلْآخِرَةِ وَ مِنَ اَلْمُقَرَّبِينَ» اِجْعَلْ صَلاَتِي مَقْبُولَةً وَ ذَنْبِي مَغْفُوراً وَ دُعَائِي بِهِ مُسْتَجَاباً إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ اَلْغَفُورُ اَلرَّحِيمُ»
Al-Husayn ibn Sa'id from Fadalah from Aban and Mu'awiyah ibn Wahb who said:
Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, said: "When you stand for prayer, say: 'O Allah سبحانه وتعالى, indeed I present Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم before my need and I turn towards You عز وجل through Him صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, so make me, through Him صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, honorable in Your عز وجل presence in this world and the Hereafter, and among those brought near. Make my prayer accepted, my sin forgiven, and my supplication through Him صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم answered. Surely You عز وجل are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.'"
