Chapter on the Manner of Prayer, Its Description and What is Obligatory and Recommended
What was narrated by Al-Husayn ibn Sa'id from Fadalah from Jamil ibn Darraj from Aban from Abdurrahman ibn Abi Uqbah from Humran from one of the two (Imams عليه السلام), peace be upon them both:
(Imam عليه السلام) said: "My father عليه السلام used to pray upon the khumrah (a small mat) placing it upon the carpet and would prostrate upon it, and if there was no khumrah, He عليه السلام would place pebbles on the carpet where He عليه السلام would prostrate."
