Ali ibn Mahziyar from al-Hasan ibn Ali ibn Faddal from Yunus ibn Ya‘qub, who said:
I said to Abu al-Hasan عليه السلام, peace be upon him: “I led a group in prayer, and I sat for the tashahhud, then stood up and forgot to offer the salam to them.” So they said (to narrator): "You did not offer salam to us." Imam عليه السلام said: "Did you not offer salam while you were sitting?" I said: “Yes.” Imam عليه السلام said: "Then there is no harm upon you. And even if you had forgotten, when they said that to you, and you turned your face to them and said, 'Peace be upon you,' it would have been acceptable."
