Chapter on Times of Prayer and Sign of Each of Its Times

That which was narrated by Sa’d ibn Abdillah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa, from al-Husayn ibn Sa’id and Muhammad ibn Khalid al-Barqi and al-Abbas ibn Ma’ruf, all from al-Qasim ibn ‘Urwah, from ‘Ubayd ibn Zurarah, who said: I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام about the time of Dhuhr and ‘Asr. Imam عليه السلام said: “When the sun passes the meridian, the time for both Dhuhr and ‘Asr enters, except that this one (Dhuhr) is before that one (‘Asr). Then you remain within the time of both of them together until the sun sets.”
