Chapter on Times of Prayer and Sign of Each of Its Times

That which was narrated by Muhammad ibn Ya’qub, from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Ashyam, from some of our companions, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, said: I heard Him عليه السلام say: “Time of Maghrib is when the redness disappears from the east.” Then Imam عليه السلام said: “Do you know how that is?” I said: “No.” Imam عليه السلام said: “Because the east overlooks the west like this”, and He عليه السلام raised his right hand above his left, “so when it disappears here (in the west), the redness disappears from there (in the east).”
