Chapter on Times of Prayer and Sign of Each of Its Times

From him, from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, from al-Hakam ibn Miskin, from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd, from Abdillah ibn Bukayr, from Zurarah, from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, who said: (Imam عليه السلام said): “When the sun passes the meridian, the time of both prayers, Dhuhr and ‘Asr, enters, and when the sun sets, the time of both prayers, Maghrib and ‘Isha’ al-Akhirah, enters. As for that which indicates the other type (of timing), it is the time for one who performs the supererogatory (nawafil) prayers.”
