Chapter on the Adhan (Call to Prayer) and the Iqamah
Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 2|Book 1|Chapter 6
وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ عَنِ اِبْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ اَلنِّدَاءِ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ اَلْفَجْرِ فَقَالَ« لاَ بَأْسَ وَ أَمَّا اَلسُّنَّةُ مَعَ اَلْفَجْرِ وَ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَيَنْفَعُ اَلْجِيرَانَ يَعْنِي قَبْلَ اَلْفَجْرِ»
Narrated from him from Fadalah from Ibn Sinan, who said:
I asked Him عليه السلام about calling (the adhan) before the rising of Fajr. Imam عليه السلام said: "There is no harm, but the sunnah is to call at the time of Fajr. And indeed, that (calling before Fajr) benefits the neighbors", meaning, before the Fajr.
