Chapter on the Adhan (Call to Prayer) and the Iqamah

Narrated by al-Husayn ibn Sa’id from Fadalah from Husayn ibn Uthman from Ibn Muskan from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr, who said: I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام about a man who speaks during the iqamah. Imam عليه السلام said: "Yes, but when the mu’adhdhin says ‘Qad qamat al-salah’ (the prayer has been established), then speech becomes forbidden for the people in the mosque, except if they have gathered from different places and have no imam; then there is no harm if some of them say to one another, ‘Go ahead, so-and-so (and lead the prayer).’"
