Chapter on the Manner of Prayer, Explanation of the Fifty-One Rak‘ahs; The Order, Recitation, Tasbih in Bowing and Prostration, Qunut, and What is Obligatory and Recommended Therein
And from him, from al-Barqi, from Sa‘d ibn Sa‘d al-Ash‘ari, from Abu al-Hasan al-Ridha عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
I asked Him عليه السلام about ‘qunut’, is ‘qunut’ performed in all the prayers, or only in those in which the recitation is audible? Imam عليه السلام said: “Qunut is only in Ghadah (Fajr), Jumu‘ah (Friday prayer), Witr, and Maghrib.”
