Chapter on the Manner of Prayer, Explanation of the Fifty-One Rak‘ahs; The Order, Recitation, Tasbih in Bowing and Prostration, Qunut, and What is Obligatory and Recommended Therein

Al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id, from Safwan: Abdullah ibn Bukayr narrated to us from Abd al-Malik ibn ‘Amr al-Ahwal: Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: “The ‘tashahhud’ in the first two rak‘ahs is: ‘Alhamdu lillah ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluh Allahumma salli ala Muhammad wa Aali Muhammad wa taqabbal shafaatahu fi ummatih wa irfa darajatah’ (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah سبحانه وتعالى, alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم is His servant and messenger. O Allah سبحانه وتعالى, send blessings upon Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and the family of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم, and accept His صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم intercession on behalf of His صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم nation, and raise His صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم rank.’”
