Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa, from Yusuf ibn ‘Aqil, from Muhammad ibn Qays, from Abu Ja‘far عليه السلام (peace be upon him), who said:
(imam عليه السلام said) “Commander of the Faithful, (Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib عليه السلام), peace be upon him, when He عليه السلام prayed, would recite silently in the first two rak‘ahs of his Dhuhr prayer, and He عليه السلام would perform ‘tasbih’ (glorification) in the last two rak‘ahs of his Dhuhr prayer, similar to what He عليه السلام did in the Isha prayer. And He عليه السلام would recite silently in the first two rak‘ahs of his ‘Asr prayer, and He عليه السلام would perform ‘tasbih’ in the last two rak‘ahs similar to what He عليه السلام did in the Isha prayer. And He عليه السلام used to say: ‘The beginning of the prayer of one of you is the bowing.’”
