Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, from al-‘Amraki, from Ali ibn Ja‘far, from his brother Musa ibn Ja‘far (peace be upon them both), who said:
I asked Him عليه السلام about a man, is it permissible for him to recite in his prayer and move his tongue with the recitation only within his throat without making himself hear it? Imam عليه السلام said: “There is no harm if he does not move his tongue and simply imagines (the recitation) as imagination.”
