Chapter on the Manner of Prayer, Explanation of the Fifty-One Rak‘ahs; The Order, Recitation, Tasbih in Bowing and Prostration, Qunut, and What is Obligatory and Recommended Therein

Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Mahbub, from al-‘Abbas, from Abdillah ibn al-Mughirah, from Hammad, from Abu Basir, who said: I prayed behind Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, and when He عليه السلام reached the final ‘tashahhud’, He عليه السلام raised his voice until we could hear him. When He عليه السلام finished the prayer, I said to him: “Is it appropriate for the imam (of prayer) to make his ‘tashahhud’ audible to those behind him?” Imam عليه السلام said: “Yes.”
