Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub from Ali ibn Ibrahim from his father from Ibn Abi Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabi:
Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: “It is not appropriate for the imam (of prayer) to move (from his place) after the taslim until those behind him complete their prayer.” He (al-Halabi) said: “I asked Him عليه السلام about the man who leads others in prayer, should he engage in ta‘qib with his companions after the taslim?” Imam عليه السلام said: “He should recite tasbih, and whoever wishes may go to attend to his need, and no man should remain seated for the sake of the Imam’s ta‘qib.”
