Sa‘d ibn Abdullah from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-‘Abbas ibn Ma‘ruf from Safwan ibn Yahya from Abu Jarir Zakariyya ibn Idris al-Qummi who said: I asked Abu al-Hasan al-Awwal عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about a man who leads a people in prayer who dislike that he recite ‘Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim’ aloud. Imam عليه السلام said: “Then he should not recite it aloud.”
