Ahmad ibn Abi Abdillah from his father from Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr from Hariz from Murazim:
Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: “The prostration of gratitude is obligatory upon every Muslim. With it, you complete your prayer, please your Lord عز وجل, and the angels are amazed at you. Indeed, when the servant prays and then performs the prostration of gratitude, the Lord عز وجل, Exalted is He عز وجل, lifts the veil between the servant and the angels and says: ‘O My عز وجل angels, look at My عز وجل servant, he has fulfilled My عز وجل closeness, completed My عز وجل covenant, and then prostrated to Me عز وجل in gratitude for what I have bestowed upon him. O My عز وجل angels, what does he deserve?’ The angels say: ‘Our Lord عز وجل, Your mercy.’ Then the Lord عز وجل, Exalted is He عز وجل, says: ‘And what else?’ The angels say: ‘Our Lord عز وجل, Your Paradise.’ Then the Lord عز وجل says: ‘And what else?’ The angels say: ‘Our Lord عز وجل, sufficiency in his needs.’ Then the Lord عز وجل says: ‘And what else?’ And there remains nothing of good except that the angels mention it. Then Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, says: ‘O My angels, and what else?’ The angels say: ‘Our Lord عز وجل, we have no knowledge.’ Allah سبحانه وتعالى, the Exalted, says: ‘I shall thank him as he has thanked Me عز وجل, and I shall turn to him with My عز وجل bounty and show him My عز وجل mercy.’”
