And from him, from Ya‘qub ibn Yaqtin. He said: I asked the Righteous Servant (Abd al-Salih عليه السلام) about the recitation in the witr prayer. I asked: “Some have narrated ‘Surah Al Ikhlas’ in all three rak‘ahs, and some have narrated the ‘Mu‘awwidhatayn’ (Surah al-Falaq and Surah al-Nas) in the first two, and ‘Surah Al Ikhlas’ in the third.” Imam عليه السلام said: “Act upon the ‘Mu‘awwidhatayn’ and ‘Surah Al Ikhlas’.”
